Bespoke External Door & Hardwood Frame in North Hykeham

We manufactured and fitted this bespoke external door in North Hykeham to provide a simple separate access door for an outbuilding at a residential property.

The project involved making a new hardwood frame to suit the existing opening, together with a flush plywood door. Although straightforward in design, making the frame and door specifically for the opening ensured a better fit than relying on a standard off-the-shelf door set.

Bespoke External Door in North Hykeham

The client needed a practical access door for the outbuilding. Therefore, we produced a simple flush door and purpose-made hardwood frame to suit the existing structure.

The hardwood frame was made to the dimensions of the opening before being fitted on site. We then installed the flush plywood door within the new frame and fitted the required hinges, handle and lock.

Keeping the design simple was the right approach for this project. The main priority was to create a secure, usable and properly fitted access door without adding unnecessary decorative detail.

Made to Fit the Existing Opening

Existing outbuildings do not always have openings that suit standard manufactured door sets. A purpose-made frame allows us to work with the actual dimensions available and create a better fit around the existing structure.

For this North Hykeham project, the hardwood frame was made specifically for the opening and installed directly against the existing concrete-panel outbuilding.

The flush plywood door gives the entrance a clean and straightforward appearance while providing practical everyday access.

Purpose-Made Joinery for Simple Projects

Not every bespoke joinery project needs to be highly decorative or complex. Sometimes the best solution is simply to make something properly for the space available.
