Radial Joinery in Lincoln

About Radial Joinery in Lincoln

At Radial Joinery, we design, manufacture and install bespoke joinery for homes, period properties and commercial projects across Lincoln and the surrounding villages.

We specialise in fitted furniture, timber windows, handcrafted doors, heritage joinery and architectural mouldings. All joinery is made to order in our Lincoln workshop.

Every project is designed around the property it belongs to.

We do not use flat-pack systems, standard off-the-shelf sizes or generic solutions.

Instead, we manufacture purpose made joinery for each customer, each space and each property style.

Our work combines traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods.

This helps us produce joinery that looks right, fits properly and lasts for years.

A Joinery Business Built Through Experience

Radial Joinery was founded by Ian Metheringham after years working within the joinery trade across Lincolnshire.

Ian began with a traditional apprenticeship and NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery before progressing through the industry from bench joiner to workshop foreman within a local joinery manufacturer.

During this time, he worked on a wide range of bespoke joinery projects.

These included timber windows, bespoke doors, staircases, mouldings, fitted furniture and heritage restoration work.

He also carried out listed building joinery repairs and period property renovations across Lincolnshire.

This hands-on experience across both workshop manufacture and on-site installation helped shape the way Radial Joinery operates today.

We understand not only how joinery should be made, but also how it needs to perform in real homes and real buildings over time.

Bespoke Joinery Manufactured in Lincoln

All joinery is manufactured in our Lincoln workshop using a combination of traditional joinery techniques and carefully selected modern machinery.

This allows us to maintain the detail and character expected from handcrafted joinery.

It also helps us achieve the accuracy, consistency and durability needed for modern living.

Our work includes bespoke fitted furniture, alcove units, media walls, fitted wardrobes, timber windows, entrance doors, internal doors, heritage joinery, architectural mouldings, timber repairs and purpose made joinery for unique spaces.

We regularly manufacture joinery for properties where standard products simply do not work.

This includes period homes, listed buildings, uneven spaces and architect-designed projects.

Heritage & Period Property Specialists

A large part of our work involves older and character properties across Lincolnshire.

We regularly carry out heritage joinery repairs, like-for-like replacements and bespoke timber manufacture for listed and period buildings.

Maintaining the original proportions and character of the property is always important.

This often includes replicating original mouldings and profiles.

We also repair decayed timber windows and doors and manufacture replacement sash and casement windows.

Many projects involve bespoke doors designed to match existing joinery details.

We regularly work alongside conservation officers and architects.

Good heritage joinery is rarely about simply replacing timber.

It is about understanding proportions, detailing and how original joinery was intended to work within the building.

Why We Use Accoya for External Joinery

For many external projects, we recommend Accoya as our premium timber option.

Accoya offers excellent durability, dimensional stability and long-term performance.

This makes it particularly well suited to painted external joinery such as windows and doors.

Benefits of Accoya include a 50 year above-ground warranty, reduced movement, improved paint longevity and excellent durability.

Accoya is also sourced from responsibly managed timber supplies.

This makes it an excellent choice for homeowners looking for long-lasting, low maintenance timber joinery.

Designed Around Real Homes & Everyday Use

We believe bespoke joinery should improve how a home feels and functions day to day.

It should not simply fill a space.

Whether we are designing fitted wardrobes, alcove storage or a full room of bespoke furniture, we focus on practical layouts, clean proportions and durable construction.

We pay close attention to storage usability and room proportions.

We also consider material selection, hardware quality, finishing systems and long-term durability.

Every detail should feel consistent with the style of the property.

Our goal is always to create joinery that feels original to the home rather than obviously added later.

Working with Homeowners, Architects & Contractors

We work with homeowners, builders, interior designers, architects and commercial clients across Lincolnshire.

Projects range from single bespoke pieces through to full property joinery packages.

Where required, we also coordinate with trusted electricians, decorators, plumbers and other trades.

This helps projects run smoothly from start to finish.

We are fully insured and experienced working within occupied homes, renovation projects and heritage properties.

Our Process

Initial Discussion

We begin by discussing the project, the property and what you are hoping to achieve.

Photos, inspiration images and rough measurements often help us provide initial guidance.

Site Visit & Quotation

Where appropriate, we arrange a site visit to measure accurately, discuss layouts and assess the property before preparing a quotation.

Drawings & Design Development

For larger or more detailed projects, we can produce drawings and refine layouts, specifications and finishes before manufacture begins.

Manufacture

All joinery is manufactured in our Lincoln workshop using carefully selected materials and construction methods suited to the project.

Finishing & Installation

We install all joinery carefully and professionally while maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Where required, we also provide professional spray finishing systems for durable painted finishes.

Built to Last

We believe good joinery should still look and function properly many years after installation.

That is why we focus heavily on proper construction methods and quality materials.

We also prioritise stable timber selection, accurate manufacturing and correct installation.

Durable finishing systems help protect the joinery for years to come.

We avoid shortcuts and prioritise long-term performance over quick cosmetic solutions.
