Radial Joinery in Lincoln

About Radial Joinery

Based in Lincoln, our team designs, manufactures, and installs
bespoke timber furniture,
heritage windows, and handcrafted architectural joinery.
Everything we create is purpose-made from scratch to fit your property perfectly.

Built on Over 25 Years of Trade Expertise

Radial Joinery was founded by Ian Metheringham following decades of dedicated work within the Lincolnshire joinery sector. Having developed his skills through a traditional, old-school trade apprenticeship and earning an NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery, Ian progressed from a bench joiner to workshop foreman for an established local manufacturer.

Today, that high standard of craftsmanship forms the baseline for the entire workshop team. By bringing together time-served techniques, hands-on site installation knowledge, and structured project management, we ensure every project behaves beautifully and stands the test of time.

By investing in the next generation of trade talent through structured apprenticeships and maintaining professional, dedicated office support, we deliver a seamless, reliable experience from your first phone call to the final installation cleanup.

Heritage Property & Conservation Specialists

A significant part of our team’s day-to-day work involves character homes and listed structures across Lincolnshire. We work closely alongside homeowners, conservation officers, and architects to achieve absolute historical accuracy:

  • Faithful Replications: We can replicate original historic profiles, mouldings, and architectural timber features down to the millimeter.
  • Traditional Windows & Doors: Handcrafting classic sliding sash windows, traditional casements, and heavy timber entry doors that honor period aesthetics while improving home warmth.
  • Sympathetic Timber Restoration: Carefully repairing structural frameworks and historical doors rather than removing irreplaceable heritage features.

Certified High-Performance Materials

For external woodwork exposed to the elements, our team heavily utilizes and recommends premium Accoya timber for its unmatched stability and lifespan:

  • 50-Year Warranty: Industry-leading protection against wood rot and decay.
  • No Swelling or Sticking: Accoya experiences minimal seasonal movement, meaning doors and windows operate smoothly year-round.
  • Extended Paint Life: The stability of the wood prevents premature paint cracking, drastically cutting down your long-term maintenance cycles.

Practical Designs for Everyday Living

Bespoke architectural joinery should naturally elevate how your home functions. From custom media walls and fitted wardrobes to extensive architect-designed commercial fit-outs, our workshop focuses entirely on smart layouts, robust hardware choices, and high-durability construction.

We work as trusted project partners for private homeowners, local builders, interior designers, and commercial contractors across Lincolnshire. Our office handles full trade coordination, aligning smoothly with electricians, plumbers, and site decorators to ensure a hassle-free, professional delivery.

Our Project Process

  1. Initial Consultation: We discuss your structural or aesthetic goals. Reviewing rough dimensions, design references, or site photos helps anchor our initial guidance.
  2. Site Evaluation & Estimating: Our team coordinates a detailed on-site survey to map layouts and check physical details before delivering a transparent quotation.
  3. Design Development: For complex installations, we refine specific design layouts and hardware options well before any timber is cut in the workshop.
  4. Precision Manufacturing: Your project is built by hand in our local Newark Road workshop, blending classic bench assembly with modern machinery accuracy.
  5. Professional Handover: Our skilled team fits your completed joinery smoothly, protecting your home throughout. We also offer factory-grade, high-durability workshop spray finishes for an immaculate surface.
