Bespoke Alcove Unit & Floating Shelves in Lincoln

The project included a fitted alcove cabinet with floating shelves above, all made to suit the exact size of the room. Bespoke furniture allows the storage to fit perfectly within the space rather than using standard units.

Client Brief

The client wanted a fitted alcove cabinet with three floating shelves above the chimney breast. The design needed to feel balanced and sit naturally within the existing recess.

Construction and Materials

We built the alcove unit using moisture resistant MDF to improve durability and stability. Inside the cabinet, we used oak veneered MDF to add warmth and contrast.

The cabinet includes soft close hinges and simple chrome pull knobs. These details keep the design clean and understated while providing smooth operation.

Above the cabinet, we installed three bespoke floating shelves. Each shelf was aligned carefully to suit the proportions of the alcove and surrounding walls.

Prepared for Decoration

We supplied the unit ready for decoration so the customer could colour match the cabinet to the final room scheme. This approach allows the furniture to blend naturally with the rest of the interior.
