We designed and installed a bespoke arched timber door for a period property in West Stockwith, Doncaster.
The property sits within a conservation area. Therefore, we had to respect the original Gothic stone arch while improving security and durability.
We carefully templated the opening to follow the exact curve of the stonework. We then handcrafted a bespoke arched frame and a traditional ledged and braced door in Douglas Fir.
The client also considered Oak as an option. However, Douglas Fir provided excellent stability and value while maintaining a traditional appearance.
We fitted quality brass ironmongery to suit the character of the building. In addition, we applied a Sikkens two-part microporous finish. This system protects the timber while allowing it to breathe naturally.
As a result, the finished door enhances the entrance while remaining sympathetic to the heritage setting.
If you are looking for a bespoke arched timber door in Lincolnshire or the surrounding areas, we would be pleased to discuss your project.
