Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes in Navenby, Lincoln

Radial Joinery designed and installed these bespoke fitted wardrobes in Navenby, Lincoln to create a clean and contemporary storage solution with a strong architectural look. The wardrobes were designed to fit the space exactly, allowing us to create more storage while keeping a neat fitted appearance.

Client Brief

The client wanted a modern wardrobe design with slab style doors and a practical internal layout. We configured the interior with a double hanging section and a separate single section to maximise storage.

The single section includes four soft-close drawers. Above the drawers, we built a custom pull-out accessory tray lined with felt. This tray provides organised storage for watches and smaller items, while adjustable shelving above allows the layout to change over time.

Materials and Construction

We manufactured the doors and end panels using Medite premium moisture resistant MDF to improve durability. For the internals, we used walnut veneered panels to introduce warmth and contrast.

To keep the room consistent, we replaced the cupboard door above the stairwell with a matching flush ply door. Inside the cupboard, we installed a twin slot shelving system with walnut shelves and a new base section.

Ironmongery and Detailing

We fitted soft-close hinges and drawer runners throughout the installation to ensure smooth and quiet operation. Long knurled T-bar satin nickel handles add detail, while a black hanging rail creates contrast within the walnut interior.

Integrated LED Lighting

We installed vertical LED strips along each upright to improve visibility. Door sensors switch the lights on automatically when the doors open, keeping the interior bright without the need for visible switches.

Spray Finish and Final Detail

All walnut veneered parts were finished in Osmo Hardwax Oil to highlight the natural grain. We spray finished the doors and front panels in satin paint, colour matched to Farrow & Ball “Down Pipe No.26”.

The dark exterior contrasts with the warm walnut interior and gives the wardrobes a modern fitted appearance.
