Bespoke Floor to Ceiling Wardrobe in Lincoln

Radial Joinery recently completed this bespoke floor to ceiling wardrobe in Lincoln, designed and handcrafted to maximise storage while maintaining a refined raised shaker aesthetic.

The Client Brief

The brief was to create a fitted wardrobe solution for Orlaith’s room that provided generous hanging space, adjustable shelving and integrated drawer storage while maintaining traditional detailing.

The wardrobe was constructed as two full-height double units, incorporating a three-drawer section within one half of the lower cabinetry.

A standout feature of this installation is the raised decorative moulding applied to the doors, along with an end panel designed to mirror the door detailing. This ensures the wardrobe reads as a seamless architectural feature rather than a standard fitted unit.

The far right door incorporates a framed mirror internally, enhancing practicality without disrupting the external aesthetic.

Materials & Finish

This bespoke wardrobe in Lincoln was manufactured using Ash veneered MDF and Medite premium moisture resistant MDF, complete with soft close hinges, chrome hanging rails and small pull knobs.

All Ash elements were finished in Osmo Hard Wax Oil to enhance the natural grain, while the doors and frontals were spray finished in Little Greene “Slaked Lime Deep (150)” for a durable and timeless finish.

Integrated LED Lighting

Long vertical sensor-operated LED strips were installed inside the lower cabinetry. These illuminate automatically when the doors are opened, providing enhanced visibility when selecting outfits and adding both functionality and a luxury feel.

Ironmongery

The client selected bespoke handles which were installed during a scheduled return visit once delivered, completing the final personalised detailing of the wardrobe.

The Result

The finished installation delivers a seamless, floor to ceiling fitted wardrobe that balances traditional raised moulding detail with modern lighting and precision craftsmanship.

The team at Radial recently completed some skilled remedial work on our conservatory. Many of the window units were rotting around the sills so the frames needed splicing with new timber. We live in an old stone house without any straight lines so the work was particularly challenging, yet we were very happy with the outcome. Highly recommend.

Fast, professional service. We used Radial to replace two very old windows. The job we needed doing was to replace the rotted ‘decking’ plank tops to the raised beds in our garden. We also needed a ‘railway sleeper’ step replacing alongside. The beds are three to four meters square and there are four so not a small task.

Radial Joinery gave us a competitive quote and got on with the job.

Although the job sounds simple it was actually quite complicated requiring mitre joints at the corners. They also need to be fixed soundly, as the tops of the raised beds are designed to be sat on and, sometimes, stood on.

We also had small additional work for radial to do whilst they we there.

It turned out to be a ‘full on’ days work for Ian and his assistant – the finished job was excellent in all aspects.

The old, rotten decking planks were taken away by Radial and they vacuumed the sawdust away in all areas of their work.

I’ve had Ian from Radial Joinery at my house to do some work several times in the last few years. He’s always been on time, well kitted out for whatever job is needed and very able to turn his hand to anything. Replacing internal doors and skirting boards, built wardrobes, replaced decking, mended kitchen cupboards, put up shelves and also carved an awkward outside towel rack for my hot tub. As long as you provide him with decent coffee, he’s excellent to employ.
