Overview

Bespoke Timber Front & Back Doors in Nocton

Radial Joinery recently designed, manufactured and installed a pair of bespoke timber doors at this property in Nocton, Lincolnshire. The project included a statement six-panel front door and a set of glazed back doors, both professionally spray finished in a bold heritage blue.

The Client Brief

Jessica and Paul wanted to replace their existing doors with something more substantial and visually striking. However, performance was just as important as appearance. Therefore, the new doors needed to improve thermal efficiency, security and overall durability.

In addition, they requested traditional detailing that would complement the stone façade of the property.

Front Door Specification

We manufactured a bespoke six-panel hardwood front door with the top two panels glazed. Externally, we incorporated bolection mouldings around both the glazed and solid panels to introduce depth and character.

The new frame includes a two-part Stormguard threshold and a solid oak cill. We fitted brass ironmongery, including a ring knocker, letter plate and handle. Furthermore, we installed a multi-point locking system with a 5-star thumb-turn euro cylinder to enhance security.

Back Doors Specification

To the rear, we installed a pair of bespoke glazed timber doors manufactured from Accoya and oak. As a result, the doors offer excellent dimensional stability and long-term resistance to movement.

The doors incorporate soft coat, argon-filled double glazing with warm edge spacer bars to improve energy efficiency. Meanwhile, the operating leaf features a multi-point lock and high-security cylinder.

Externally, we repeated the bolection moulding detail to ensure consistency across both entrances.

Finish

Both door sets were spray finished in a colour matched heritage blue (Dulux Heritage – Oxford Blue / Blue Verditer tone). This approach creates a smooth, durable coating while reducing future maintenance.

The Result

The completed installation significantly enhances the property’s kerb appeal. The bold blue finish creates a striking focal point, while the premium timber construction ensures performance, longevity and security.
