Bespoke tulipwood ledged and braced internal bathroom cupboard door with handmade ironmongery.

Overview

We recently designed and installed a bespoke ledged and braced internal door for a bathroom cupboard at a property in Carlton-Le-Moorland, Lincoln.

The client required a new door to match an existing ledged and braced door within the same room. Therefore, accuracy in proportion, detailing and finish was essential to achieve a seamless result.

We manufactured the door using tulipwood, selected for its stability and suitability for painted internal joinery. Tulipwood provides a smooth surface and performs exceptionally well in environments where moisture levels may fluctuate, such as bathrooms.

To ensure the new door matched the existing one, we carefully replicated the layout of the vertical boards, ledges and diagonal braces. In addition, we fitted handmade ironmongery to complement the traditional character of the property.

The result is a well-balanced internal door that blends perfectly with the existing joinery while maintaining durability and function. Small projects such as this require just as much attention to detail as larger installations.

At Radial Joinery, we manufacture bespoke timber doors throughout Lincolnshire, including traditional ledged and braced designs for period and contemporary homes.
