Radial Joinery designed and installed this under stairs storage in Lincoln for a property in North Hykeham. The customer wanted a simple fitted drawer unit to make better use of the space under the staircase. Making Use of Under Stairs Space
Space under the stairs is often difficult to use with standard furniture. Because of this, we designed a custom drawer unit built to the exact size of the opening. As a result, the storage fits neatly into the space and looks like part of the house.
Fitted storage like this keeps the hallway tidy while also giving useful space for everyday items.
Three Drawer Storage Unit
We built a three drawer storage unit to fit under the staircase. The drawers run on soft close push-to-open runners, so no handles are needed. This keeps the front clean and modern.
Push-to-open drawers work well in tight areas because they allow the drawers to open easily without catches or knobs.
White Faced MDF with Gloss Drawer Fronts
We made the internal unit from white faced MDF to give a clean and durable finish. The drawer fronts were made separately and hand painted in gloss white.
The painted finish helps the storage match the rest of the hallway. In addition, gloss paint gives a smooth surface that is easy to keep clean.
Built in Our Workshop and Fitted on Site
We made the drawer unit in our workshop before fitting it in the property. This allows us to work accurately and keep the finish neat. Once fitted, the drawers sit flush with the wall so the unit looks fully built in.
