Bespoke Cottage Style Oak Front Door in Digby, Lincoln

We designed, made and installed this bespoke cottage style oak front door for a property in Digby, Lincoln. The existing door was outdated and no longer suited the property, so the client wanted a new timber door that improved both appearance and performance.

Because the property has a traditional feel, the new door needed to match the style while offering modern security and insulation.

Bespoke Framed, Ledged and Braced Oak Door

We manufactured a fully bespoke framed, ledged and braced door in European oak. This style suits period and cottage properties and gives a solid, traditional appearance.

We also included a vision panel to allow natural light into the space. The glazing was fitted using Pilkington double glazed units with obscure toughened glass, which improves privacy while still allowing light through.

As a result, the new door feels more in keeping with the property and improves day to day use.

Modern Security and Performance

Although the door has a traditional look, we incorporated modern security features. We fitted a multipoint locking system with a 3 star thumb turn euro cylinder for added protection.

In addition, we installed a rollover threshold and weather seals. This helps reduce drafts and improves thermal performance.

Because of this, the door not only looks better but also performs far better than the original.

High Quality Finish

We finished the oak using Osmo UV protection oil. This protects the timber from weathering while enhancing the natural grain.

The finish also allows for easy maintenance in the future, which is important for external timber joinery.
