Overview

Bespoke Accoya Front Door in Lincoln

This bespoke Accoya front door in Lincoln was manufactured and installed for a period property on North Parade. The original entrance door had reached the point where replacement was the better option. The client wanted a new door and frame that respected the character of the building while improving security, glazing and long-term durability. This project forms part of our bespoke timber doors in Lincoln service, as well as our wider bespoke joinery services in Lincoln.

Bespoke Accoya Front Door in Lincoln

The new entrance was made as a 54mm thick front door and frame. We designed it with four panels, with the top two sections glazed and a matching glazed panel above the door within the frame. We manufactured the new door and frame in Accoya because the material offers excellent stability and long-term durability for external joinery. This makes it well suited to external doors, especially where the joinery needs to hold its shape and coating system over time. You can read more about Accoya’s external timber performance on the Accoya website.

Decorative Glazing Made to the Client’s Design

We had the glazing units made to the client’s design. The coloured glazed panels created a strong visual feature and allowed light to flood into the hallway. As the light passes through the glass, it creates a soft coloured effect inside the property. This helped the new door feel personal to the building, rather than looking like a standard replacement.

Secure External Door with Spray Applied Finish

The door was fitted with double glazing using clear toughened 4/16/4 units, argon fill and warm edge spacer bar. Stainless steel multi-point locking, handles and a thumb turn cylinder for security. We spray finished the door to provide a clean, even coating suitable for external joinery. The finished result gives the property a more refined entrance while keeping the period feel of the hallway and tiled floor.
