Bespoke Window Shutters in Lincoln – Traditional Shutters for a Listed Property
We designed, made and installed these bespoke window shutters at a property on Lindum Road in Lincoln. The project included three shutters. We fitted one to a bathroom window and two to children’s bedroom windows.
The property is listed, so the shutters needed to suit the character of the building. We designed each unit to sit neatly within the existing openings.
This type of work forms part of our bespoke fitted furniture in Lincoln service and our wider bespoke joinery services in Lincoln. Purpose made joinery always gives a better fit than standard products.
Shutters Designed for a Listed Property
Each shutter includes upper and lower sections. This allows the client to control light and privacy more easily.
This layout works well in bedrooms and bathrooms. The top and bottom sections can open separately, which gives more flexibility.
Because the property is listed, listed building consent was required. We often complete this type of work as part of our heritage and period joinery in Lincoln service.
Steamed Beech Frames with Moisture Resistant Panels
We made the frames using steamed beech. We used moisture resistant MDF panels for the main sections.
This combination gives good strength and stability. It also provides a clean base for a painted finish. In bathrooms, this is especially important because moisture levels can change.
We made each shutter to fit the opening exactly. This keeps the lines clean and helps the joinery look original to the room.
Brass Ironmongery and Spray Primed Finish
We fitted brass hinges and catches to suit the traditional style of the property. These details help the shutters match the rest of the building.
We spray primed the shutters in our workshop. This gives a smooth and even base coat ready for final decoration.
Spray finishing produces a cleaner result than brush painting. It also helps the paint system last longer.
Bespoke Shutters in Lincoln
We manufactured all parts in our workshop before installation. We then fitted the shutters on site in Lincoln.
This approach allows us to control quality during manufacture and achieve a precise fit on installation.
The finished shutters provide privacy, control light and suit the character of the property.
