Bespoke Victorian Style Door in Nettleham, Lincoln
We manufactured and fitted this bespoke Victorian style door for a property in Nettleham, Lincoln. The customer wanted a new external timber door that closely matched the original appearance while improving security and everyday use.
The design was made to give the appearance of two single doors, matching the look of the previous opening. However, the new door works as one secure external entrance door.

Victorian Style Timber Door
We made the door from Sapele hardwood. Sapele is a strong and stable timber, which makes it well suited to external joinery.
The door was designed to closely match the previous style. It gave the appearance of two outward opening half doors, while still providing a more secure modern door arrangement.
Improved Security and Weather Sealing
The door was fitted with a heritage slam shut lock with internal locking only. This gave the customer improved security while keeping the outside appearance simple and traditional.
We also removed the existing brush strips and replaced them with a new compression seal. This helped improve the weather performance around the door.
Painted Finish and Double Glazing
We fitted the door with Pilkington clear toughened double glazing with an argon filled warm edge spacer bar.
We finished the door in a spray applied paint system. This included end grain sealing, two coats of primer and undercoat, followed by a satin top coat. The final colour was Jasmine White.
