Bespoke Media Wall with Alcove Storage in Ruskington

We designed, manufactured and installed this bespoke media wall in Ruskington for a client who wanted to create a strong focal point in the lounge while adding practical storage and a compact study area.

The finished design combines a false chimney breast, recessed television, electric fire and solid American White Oak mantel. Bespoke alcove cabinetry sits on both sides, with floating-style shelves above and an integrated desk within the right-hand alcove.

Bespoke Media Wall in Ruskington

The client wanted the room to feel balanced and complete rather than simply adding separate pieces of furniture. Therefore, we designed the whole wall as one joined-up feature.

At the centre, we constructed a false chimney breast around the electric fire and television. The recessed television keeps the front of the feature clean, while the solid American White Oak mantel adds natural warmth and contrast.

We finished the chimney breast ready for the client to decorate in their chosen colour.

Bespoke Alcove Cabinets and Floating Shelves

On both sides of the chimney breast, we fitted bespoke base cabinets for concealed storage. Floating-style shelves above create space for books, decorative items and everyday belongings.

The right-hand alcove also includes a dedicated study area with an integrated desk surface. This gave the client a useful workspace without introducing a separate desk into the room.

By making each unit specifically for the space, we could control the proportions and create a more balanced layout around the central fireplace.

Spray-Finished Cabinetry and Oak Details

We applied a spray finish to all cabinetry frontals for a smooth and consistent appearance. We also protected the oak parts with hardwax oil, which highlights the grain while giving the timber a durable finish.

Soft-close hinges and simple pull knobs complete the cabinets with a clean and understated look.

The finished project brought together a media wall, fireplace feature, concealed storage, display shelving and a study area within one coordinated design.
