Bespoke Under Stairs Storage Cupboards in North Hykeham, Lincoln

We designed, manufactured and installed this bespoke under stairs storage solution in North Hykeham, Lincoln. The space beneath the staircase was previously unused, so the client wanted practical storage that also matched the style of the home.

Because the hallway is a main feature of the property, the joinery needed to look clean, balanced and in keeping with the existing interior.

Made to Measure Under Stairs Storage

We built a fully bespoke cupboard system to fit the exact shape of the staircase. This included two main access doors to a large walk-in storage area, allowing easy use of the full depth of the space.

In addition, we incorporated a pull-out drawer at the lower section. This is ideal for shoes and everyday items, making the most of an area that is often difficult to access.

As a result, the storage is both practical and easy to use day to day.

Shaker Style Doors and Traditional Detailing

The doors and drawer fronts were made in a shaker style with moulding detail. This gives a simple, timeless appearance that suits both modern and traditional homes.

We also continued the skirting detail across the front of the unit. This helps the cupboards blend seamlessly into the room, so they feel like part of the original house rather than an addition.

Because of this, the finished result looks clean, consistent and well proportioned.

Materials and Finish

We manufactured the cupboards using moisture resistant MDF, with tulipwood mouldings for the panel detail. The drawer was constructed using Finsa Oak venered MDF for strength and durability.

The entire unit was spray finished to give a smooth, consistent paint finish. This provides a higher quality result compared to brush application and improves durability over time.
