Bespoke Arched Accoya Front Door and Window in Branston Booths
We made and fitted this bespoke Accoya front door in Branston Booths, together with a purpose-made arched timber window for the same property.
The original work began with the replacement of old aluminium windows fitted within a stone opening. The client had spent several years trying to find someone who could complete the work without damaging the surrounding stone.
The project later developed to include a matching Victorian-style entrance door. Both elements needed to respect the age and character of the house while improving security, insulation and long-term durability.

Accoya Front Door in Branston Booths
We made the entrance door using Accoya and Tricoya. These materials provide excellent stability and durability for external joinery, especially where the door and frame need to retain their shape over time.
The door has an arched head, three glazed upper panels and two solid lower panels. The design gives the entrance a traditional appearance while allowing natural light into the property.
The glazing uses Pilkington toughened double-glazed units with an argon-filled cavity and warm-edge spacer bars.

Decorative Glazing Chosen by the Client
Bill selected his own design for the decorative leaded glass. This introduced a personal feature while keeping the finished entrance suitable for the style of the house.
The entrance had experienced historic movement, so the new door and frame had to be made around the existing opening rather than treated as a standard size.
We fitted a heritage multipoint locking system, a central pull handle and a three-star thumbturn euro cylinder. A traditional brass letter plate with “LETTERS” detailing completed the entrance.
Purpose-Made Arched Timber Window
Alongside the door, we manufactured a bespoke arched timber window to fit the existing stone opening.
Bill was concerned that the surrounding stone could be damaged during installation. Careful measurement and accurate manufacture allowed the replacement joinery to fit cleanly without disturbing the fragile opening.
The completed arched window follows the shape of the building and sits naturally within the existing stonework.
Workshop Spray Finish
We manufactured and spray finished the joinery in our Lincoln workshop before installation.
The finishing process included sealing the end grain, applying two coats of primer and undercoat, and completing the system with a final top coat.
This gives the external joinery a smooth, consistent finish while protecting the Accoya and Tricoya beneath it.
