Bespoke Arched Accoya Front Door and Window in Branston Booths
We made and fitted this bespoke Accoya front door and arched timber window for a property in Branston Booths, Lincoln.
The customer wanted a traditional Victorian style entrance door that matched the character of the property. They also wanted modern security, better insulation and a durable external finish.
This project forms part of our bespoke timber doors in Lincoln, timber windows in Lincoln and wider bespoke joinery services in Lincoln.
Accoya Front Door in Branston Booths
We made the new entrance door from Accoya and Tricoya. These materials work well for external joinery because they offer excellent stability and durability.
The door featured an arched head with three glazed panels to the top and two solid timber panels below. The glazing included Pilkington toughened double glazed units with argon filling and warm edge spacer bars.
We also fitted a heritage multi-point lock, central pull handle and a 3-star thumbturn euro cylinder. In addition, we added a traditional brass letter plate with “LETTERS” detail to suit the Victorian design.
Arched Timber Window
Alongside the door, we made a bespoke arched timber window to suit the existing opening. Curved joinery like this needs careful setting out and accurate machining.
The finished window follows the original brick arch and helps keep the traditional look of the property. Because of this, the new joinery sits naturally within the building.
Spray Finished External Joinery
We spray finished the joinery using a multi-stage paint system. First, we sealed the end grain. We then applied two coats of primer and undercoat before the final top coat.
This process helps improve coating life and gives a consistent finish across the joinery.
