We manufactured and installed this bespoke arched timber window and match boarding detail for a commercial property at Deepdale Enterprise Park in Nettleham, Lincoln.
The project required a high-quality replacement window that would meet current building regulations while also matching the existing building style. In addition, we installed new timber boarding below the window to replace damaged materials and restore the structure.
Bespoke Arched Timber Window in Lincoln
The new window was designed as a bespoke archtop unit, combining traditional joinery with modern performance. It features four lower stormproof sashes, including two opening sections and two fixed, with the arched section directly glazed above.
We manufactured the window from durable Sapele hardwood. This provides excellent stability and long-term performance for external joinery. The unit was fitted with Pilkington double glazing using a 4/12/4 argon-filled system with warm edge spacer bars, helping to improve thermal efficiency.
To meet current building regulations, we also installed trickle vents and ensured the installation was approved and signed off by the local authority.
Timber Match Boarding & Structural Repairs
Below the window, we supplied and fitted new ‘V’ grooved match boarding, complete with a sub-cill detail. This was manufactured from Sapele to match the durability and appearance of the window.
During installation, we identified and replaced failed structural materials behind the existing cladding. This included new studwork, OSB and breathable membrane to ensure the structure was sound before installing the finished joinery.
The boarding was left unfinished to allow on-site decoration, ensuring it matched the existing building perfectly.
Professional Joinery Installation
All elements were manufactured in our workshop before being installed on site to minimise disruption. Careful templating ensured the arched window fitted precisely within the opening.
