Accoya Windows for a Listed Building Review in Martin

Accoya Windows for a Listed Building Review in Martin

This Accoya windows Martin project involved manufacturing and installing bespoke timber windows and doors for a listed property near Lincoln.

The existing joinery needed replacing, but the new windows and doors still had to suit the age, proportions and character of the building. We therefore made every frame specifically for its original opening.

After the project was completed, Clare left Radial Joinery a five-star review highlighting the communication throughout the work, attention to detail and quality of the finished joinery.

Accoya Windows in Martin for a Listed Building

The project included four large arched barn windows, one push-out window and one double-height opening window.

We made the frames in a traditional flush casement style using Accoya timber. The arched sections followed the existing openings closely so the replacement joinery looked appropriate within the original brickwork.

Before manufacture began, we also handled the listed-building paperwork and building-control requirements needed for the replacement work.

Accoya offers excellent stability and durability for external joinery. Its performance also helps reduce movement within painted windows and doors. Further technical information is available from the official Accoya website.

Workshop Manufacture and Spray-Applied Finish

We manufactured the windows and doors in our Lincoln workshop before applying the complete paint system.

The finish included end-grain sealing, two coats of primer and undercoat, followed by a satin top coat colour-matched to Dulux Weathershield Green Glade.

The joinery also included Pilkington double-glazed units, warm-edge spacer bars, brass ironmongery and colour-matched ventilation details. The external doors included multipoint locking and thermal-break thresholds.

Client Review

“Would definitely recommend Ian and Radial joinery. From the competitive quote to the finish his communication has been superb. The work done was for bespoke, accoya windows on a listed building. Ian is thorough and his work, attention to detail and finish is exemplary. We will without a doubt use Radial again for future needs.”

Communication, Detail and Quality of Finish

Clare’s review reflects several important parts of this project. The work required careful planning before manufacture, accurate production of the arched frames and close attention during installation.

Clear communication was particularly important because the project involved a listed property, formal approvals and several different window and door openings.

The completed joinery retained the traditional appearance needed for the building while adding modern glazing, security and weather performance.
