Bespoke Accoya Arched Timber Windows in Brant Broughton

We manufactured and installed bespoke Accoya arched timber windows in Brant Broughton for the front of this distinctive Lincolnshire property.

The project included four pointed arch windows and one smaller direct-glazed window. We designed each window to fit the original brick openings and retain the character of the building.

Accoya Arched Timber Windows Made to Measure

Standard windows would not suit the pointed brick arches or the proportions of the property. Therefore, we measured each opening and manufactured every window to fit its individual shape.

We made the windows in Accoya because it offers excellent stability and durability for external joinery. Its low movement also helps doors and windows operate reliably throughout the year. More information about the timber is available from Accoya.

The shaped heads follow the original pointed arches. In addition, the slim glazing bars keep the traditional appearance of the property.

Double Glazing with Duplex Bars

We fitted Pilkington clear soft-coat double glazing with argon-filled cavities and warm-edge spacer bars. The duplex glazing bars create the appearance of smaller traditional panes while allowing the windows to use modern sealed units.

One of the windows used a direct-glazed design with a single horizontal duplex bar. The remaining windows included opening sections with lockable satin chrome handles and stays.

We also fitted stainless steel bearing hinges for smooth operation and long-term performance.

Three-Coat Spray-Applied Finish

We sealed the end grain before applying a three-coat spray finish. The client chose white for both the internal and external surfaces.

The finished windows follow the original architecture while offering improved glazing, security and weather performance. The local building authority also inspected the completed installation to confirm compliance with current requirements.
